Relevant Activities , Methodology and Results

DRAWING AND PAINTING PROJECT - Sponsored by Just Connections - England

From the Generous donation given by two persons to Just Connetions, for the Library, there was a feeling about developing also a small project of drawing and painting. Marlon Medrano, coordinator of various programs, took the challenge if only to teach it on Saturdays. And in Saturdays it was. The first day only 9 children and youth showed up but by the third Saturday there were 35 students, all eager to learn something about drawing and painting. Suddenly there were so many that the coordinator had to break it into two groups. Every one was prompt to the class. There was a young boy with one eye only, but he was the first to arrive and the last to leave. So much meant this class to him.

Results: Convocation obtains 35 participants from 8 to 19 years of age.

  • A child with different capacities (only one eye) attends the class
  • Two youngster very much at risk come to class and perform well.
  • Parents get so interested who support every Saturday the attendance of their children or youth
  • El 74% (26 de 35) continued to the end and therefore learned all the techniques of grafitto, pencil, crayola and tempura.
  • This Project greatly improved their self esteem
  • The project impacted as well in the environment because it was part of the course to implement recycling, etc.
