Adolescents Club


Thanks to Trocaire, both the Pre-Adolescents and the Older Group, had access to good sports equipment, as well as materials for Hand-crafts and stipend for teaching Folkloric dances. This year NITCA in following the Strategic plan 2004, plans to widen the number of Adolescents participating.

With leaders from the community, Teams are forming for different tasks:
    a) Learning a trade in construction, mechanic, carpentry.
    b) Computer programs, basic and superior. High School Diploma, etc...
    c) Being trained in the knowledge of their Rights, as well as their Obligations to         the society, to the community and to their families.
    d) Participation in the labors of NITCA thus one day to take the lead in the barrio.

NITCA has already received the design of some of those projects. It is necessary to acknowledge here NITCA's gratefulness to Bernard Lambert of Basilea, Switzerland, for granting NITCA the money to have the magnificent building for the Adolescents and for a variety of events. The youth leader works with NITCA and the Adolescents of the community. He believes that providing education, training, job to an Adolescent, and also having them some energy relief through sports and other tasks, crime and gangs can be avoided. NITCA fully agrees.
In the month of April, the leader gathered with 150 youth to set their goals and objectives.
